Isiri Technologies is looking to hire an experienced Mainframes Developer through the Eazyway Platform. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in application development and support within an IBM Mainframe z/OS environment.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in COBOL, JCL, REXX, VSAM, file handling, SORT utilities, Mainframe performance, and job scheduling. Knowledge of PL/I, Assembler, DB2, IMS, CICS, and SAS will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mainframe Application Development

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications in an IBM Mainframe z/OS environment.

• Develop and maintain programs using COBOL and other Mainframe technologies.

• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective Mainframe solutions.

• Develop reusable and maintainable code following established Mainframe development standards.

• Perform application enhancements and modifications based on business requirements.

2. COBOL & Mainframe Programming

• Develop, debug, and maintain applications using COBOL.

• Work with JCL, REXX, and other Mainframe programming utilities.

• Analyze existing programs and identify opportunities for improvements.

• Troubleshoot application issues and resolve production and development defects.

• Perform code reviews, testing, debugging, and technical analysis.

3. JCL, File Handling & SORT Utilities

• Develop and maintain JCL procedures for application execution and batch processing.

• Work with different file formats and Mainframe file-handling techniques.

• Use SORT utilities for data processing, filtering, merging, and manipulation.

• Monitor batch jobs and troubleshoot job failures.

• Ensure batch processes execute efficiently and reliably.

4. VSAM & Database Technologies

• Develop and maintain applications using VSAM files.

• Work with VSAM datasets and perform file-related operations.

• Understand and troubleshoot data access and file-processing issues.

• Work with DB2 and IMS databases where required.

• Analyze database-related issues and support application data processing.

5. Mainframe Application Support

• Provide application development and production support in the IBM z/OS environment.

• Troubleshoot application, batch, job, and data-related issues.

• Analyze incidents and identify root causes.

• Implement fixes and enhancements while following change-management procedures.

• Support application stability and availability.

6. Performance & Scheduling

• Monitor and analyze Mainframe application and batch performance.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend appropriate improvements.

• Work with Mainframe job scheduling and batch processing.

• Monitor scheduled jobs and ensure successful execution.

• Troubleshoot scheduling and dependency-related issues.

7. Collaboration & Requirements Analysis

• Work closely with business analysts, technical teams, and other stakeholders.

• Quickly understand business and technical requirements.

• Participate in requirement discussions, development, testing, and implementation activities.

• Communicate technical issues and solutions effectively.

• Follow established development, testing, and documentation standards.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience: 5–7 years of experience in Mainframe application development and support.

• Strong hands-on experience in IBM Mainframe z/OS environments.

• Strong experience with COBOL.

• Strong experience with JCL and REXX.

• Hands-on experience with VSAM and Mainframe file handling.

• Experience with SORT utilities.

• Understanding of Mainframe application performance and optimization.

• Experience with Mainframe job scheduling and batch processing.

• Knowledge of PL/I and Assembler is an advantage.

• Knowledge of DB2 and IMS is an advantage.

• Familiarity with CICS is an advantage.

• Knowledge of SAS is an added advantage.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Good communication skills.

• Ability to quickly understand and analyze requirements.
