Your future duties and responsibilities
Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled professional with strong expertise in Java development, Autosys job scheduling, and Shell scripting to join our Application Management Services (AMS) and Production Support team. The role involves maintaining critical applications, ensuring system stability, and providing timely resolutions to production issues.
Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Maintenance
Provide L2/L3 support for business-critical applications.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents within SLA.
Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes.
Development & Automation
Develop and enhance applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
Write and maintain Shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency.
Design, schedule, and manage Autosys jobs for batch processing.
Production Operations
Ensure high availability and performance of applications.
Participate in on-call rotation for production support.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and deploy fixes.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to optimize processes and reduce manual effort.
Document technical solutions, operational procedures, and best practices.
Support release management, deployment activities, and change requests.
Required Mandatory Skills & Experience
Strong programming skills in Java/J2EE (Core Java, Collections, Multithreading, JDBC, REST APIs).
Hands-on experience with Autosys job scheduling (job creation, monitoring, troubleshooting).
Proficiency in Shell scripting (Unix/Linux environment).
Experience in AMS/Production Support (incident management, problem management, change management).
Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, or equivalent).
Knowledge of SQL/PL-SQL for database queries and troubleshooting.
Ability to work under pressure and manage critical production issues.
Preferred Qualifications
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven).
Knowledge of monitoring tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, Nagios).
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
