About The Role

We are seeking experienced software engineers at the tech lead level to join our dynamic team working on large language model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets. The primary focus of this role is to contribute to the development of verifiable software engineering tasks derived from public repository histories, employing synthetic approaches with human-in-the-loop methodologies. This position involves hands-on technical work, including automating development environments, triaging issues, and assessing test coverage and quality within open-source projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, particularly with public repositories, and possess the leadership skills necessary to guide junior team members. This role offers the opportunity to influence the future of AI-assisted software development while working on innovative projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a solid understanding of modern development practices.
• Experience with Git version control, Docker containerization, and setting up software pipelines.
• Ability to navigate and understand complex codebases across various open-source projects.
• Hands-on experience running, modifying, and testing real-world projects locally.
• Experience contributing to or evaluating open-source projects is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Analyze and triage issues reported in trending open-source repositories on GitHub.
• Set up and configure development environments, including containerization with Docker and environment management.
• Evaluate unit test coverage, quality, and effectiveness within codebases.
• Modify and run codebases locally to assess the performance of LLMs in bug-fixing and code understanding tasks.
• Collaborate closely with research teams to identify repositories and issues that challenge LLM capabilities.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Document findings, contribute to project planning, and suggest improvements for dataset coverage and quality.
