About The Role
We are seeking experienced software engineers at the tech lead level to join our pioneering project focused on building large language model (LLM) evaluation and training datasets. The primary goal of this initiative is to enable LLMs to effectively handle realistic software engineering challenges. The role involves working with high-quality public GitHub repositories, automating development environments, triaging issues, and assessing test coverage and code quality. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the future of AI-assisted software development by leveraging your expertise in software engineering and open-source contributions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with Git, Docker, and setting up software development pipelines.
- Ability to understand, navigate, and modify complex codebases effectively.
- Experience running, testing, and debugging real-world projects locally.
- Familiarity with contributing to or evaluating open-source projects is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and triage issues across trending open-source libraries on GitHub.
- Set up and configure code repositories, including Dockerization and environment setups.
- Evaluate unit test coverage and overall code quality.
- Modify and execute codebases locally to assess the performance of LLMs in bug-fixing scenarios.
- Collaborate with research teams to identify repositories and issues that challenge LLMs, aiding in dataset expansion.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
