About The Role

ROUNDZ is a live mobility and logistics platform dedicated to transforming intra-city transportation and logistics services. We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to take ownership of our existing Android application, enhance its performance, optimize real-time GPS tracking capabilities, and support the platform as it scales. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working on production-grade GPS tracking, ride-hailing, logistics, fleet management, or location-based applications and possess a strong understanding of Android background services, real-time communication, and location technologies.

Experience in Ola, Uber, Rapido, Porter, Borzo, Lalamove, Shadowfax, Delhivery, fleet management, or GPS tracking applications will be highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Android development with a strong portfolio of live applications.
• Hands-on experience with GPS tracking, real-time location services, and related APIs.
• Solid understanding of Android background services, foreground services, and location APIs.
• Experience working with Google Maps SDK, route visualization, geofencing, and navigation features.
• Knowledge of battery optimization techniques for location-based services.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, WebSocket, or other real-time communication protocols.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot device-specific issues.
• Experience working in agile teams with collaborative problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience with ride-hailing, logistics, or fleet management platforms is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  
  

Responsibilities

• Maintain, enhance, and optimize the existing Android application to ensure high performance and reliability.
• Improve real-time vehicle tracking accuracy, reliability, and overall system performance.
• Implement and optimize background location tracking with minimal impact on device battery life.
• Enhance Google Maps integrations, including route visualization, geofencing, and navigation features.
• Troubleshoot and resolve GPS, mapping, and background service issues across various Android devices.
• Collaborate closely with backend teams to improve real-time location updates and tracking services.
• Ensure smooth operation of live production systems used by drivers and customers, including monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary improvements.
• Ensure compliance with Android and Google Play Store policies related to location access, privacy, and background services.
• Participate in feature development, architectural improvements, and contribute to the product roadmap.
• Support application releases, updates, testing, and deployment processes.
