English 1 SWARA Group opened its first franchise center in Pluit, North Jakarta in 1997 and from there we have never looked back. 27 years later, English 1 Swara continues to be the largest group in the Greater Jakarta region, having 20 Centers in the city and its surrounding area. We currently have 9 Centers in the capital city of Jakarta, 6 in the thriving suburb of Tangerang, and 5 in the satellite city of Bogor and Depok. English 1 Swara Group is currently expanding and will open more centers this year in Cisauk. With a dynamic and expanding team, we established our own Head Office in Tangerang area to help support our English 1 Centers in continuing to grow as the leading provider of English language education in Indonesia.

Pros: The work-from-home setup is really solid for an online teaching job. I loved being able to set my own schedule, which is huge for remote workers. It's easy to balance other commitments, making it great for part-time ESL teachers.
Cons: Sometimes getting consistent student bookings can be tough on their e-learning platform. This means your income isn't always stable, which is a big drawback for independent contractors. The support for teachers could be better too.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving the student allocation system to give online instructors more consistent hours. Also, it'd be great to have more clear communication channels for teacher support.

Pros: They do provide decent initial training for new English Language Instructors. It's a good place to get your foot in the door if you're just starting out teaching onsite. You learn how to manage classes and student expectations well.
Cons: There's just no clear path for advancement. As an instructor, you're pretty much stuck at that level, even after years. They don't seem to invest in professional development beyond the basics. It's a smaller corporate setting, so opportunities are limited.
Advice to Management: Create actual promotion tracks for instructors. Offer more professional development or specialized roles. Value the experience your senior teachers bring.
