Leadership has its moments, some good, some not
Pros: My direct manager was super helpful, a real coach. Good support for growth as a Product Manager in the hospitality tech space. The work itself on the SaaS platform is interesting.
Cons: Senior leadership can feel pretty out of touch sometimes. Big decisions often drop suddenly for remote teams without much context. It makes long-term career planning a bit tough.
Advice to Management: Communicate more openly about strategic decisions with all levels, especially for remote employees. Build clearer career progression frameworks for product roles in this growing SaaS company.

Pay is Okay, Benefits are Pretty Standard
Pros: As a Senior Software Engineer, I've found the base salary pretty competitive for remote work, especially being remote from Texas. They've got a decent 401k match, which is a solid perk. The health insurance is standard for a hospitality tech company.
Cons: Annual raises aren't super impressive; they often just barely keep up with inflation, which is tough. Stock options aren't a huge draw here, unlike some bigger SaaS platform competitors. Would love to see more unique wellness benefits.
Advice to Management: Look into making annual compensation adjustments more impactful for employees. Also, beef up the overall benefits package to really compete with other tech firms in the hospitality tech space.

Decent Pay, But Benefits Could Improve
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer at Cloudbeds is pretty good, especially here in San Diego. For a mid-sized tech company, I think they keep up. They also have decent health insurance plans, which is a relief.
Cons: Honestly, the bonuses aren't amazing, and the stock options are really small. It feels like the total compensation package, beyond just base, could use a boost for those in hospitality tech. I've heard similar things about the 401k matching too.
Advice to Management: I'd really suggest looking into stronger equity programs and improving the 401k matching. It would help retain talent in a competitive market for hospitality tech professionals. Also, more clarity on promotion paths would be great.

Good Product, But Job Security Is a Worry
Pros: I liked working with smart people on interesting problems in hospitality tech. The remote work flexibility for my Software Engineer role was great, which is a big plus for a growing SaaS company. You get to learn a lot if you stick around.
Cons: There's been a lot of internal restructuring and some pretty sudden layoffs. It makes you constantly wonder about job security, even if your performance is good. Project priorities change often, which can be frustrating.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about company direction and financial health. Clear communication about strategy and future plans would really help ease concerns about job security and build trust among employees.

Career path for engineers is quite unclear
Pros: The team is pretty collaborative. You learn a lot from peers, especially on complex property management software features. Working on the core product lets you keep your technical skills sharp with modern practices.
Cons: Career growth feels pretty flat for individual contributors like me. There isn't a clear path to move up as a Software Engineer, and promotions are slow to come by. Leadership doesn't really focus on employee development much, which is tough.
Advice to Management: Need to build out clear career ladders for engineering roles. Invest in proper mentorship programs for Software Engineers too. This would really help with employee retention and overall morale.

Job Security is Okay for Cloudbeds Remote Roles
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the job security feels pretty decent. We're in the hospitality tech space, which is holding strong right now. Working remote from San Diego means I don't have to worry about office politics impacting my role too much, which adds to a sense of stability.
Cons: The downside is internal movement can be really slow, so long-term growth isn't guaranteed. This can make you question job security if you're ambitious. You might feel stuck without clear paths upward here.
Advice to Management: Management should really focus on creating clearer career paths and promoting internal mobility. That would definitely boost employee morale and their confidence in long-term job security here.

Decent Flexibility for Remote SaaS Work
Pros: The best part is definitely the work-from-home options. As a Customer Success Manager, I really appreciate the flexible hours that let me manage my day. It's great being a fully remote company for many roles in hospitality tech.
Cons: Sometimes meetings get stacked back-to-back, making those flexible hours tough to use. There's still pressure to be available for clients, even though we're remote. Some teams could use more structured time management support.
Advice to Management: Keep pushing for meeting hygiene. Empower team leads to protect focus time better. More clarity on 'core hours' vs. true flexibility would help everyone manage expectations.

Decent Pay, Benefits Need a Boost
Pros: The base pay for a Junior Software Engineer here is pretty solid, especially if you're just starting in hospitality tech. I appreciated the flexibility of working remote, which is a huge perk for my work-life balance.
Cons: The actual benefits package could be better, to be honest. PTO felt a bit limited, and things like 401k matching weren't very generous. Stock options weren't clear or a big selling point for me as a junior employee.
Advice to Management: Consider enhancing the overall benefits package, especially for 401k matching and PTO, to attract and retain talent in the competitive SaaS platform space.
