About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Fullstack Java Developer (m/w/d) with a focus on Java EE to join our Application Development department. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining sophisticated applications within an agile environment, primarily supporting our composite insurance solutions. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality software that meets the evolving needs of our clients and internal stakeholders. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with Product Owners and various Fachbereiche (specialist departments) to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions. You will also play a vital role in continuously enhancing our agile processes and methodologies, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant university degree in (Wirtschafts-)Informatik or an equivalent qualification, complemented by substantial professional experience in Java development. Deep knowledge of Java and Jakarta EE frameworks is essential, along with familiarity with modern development tools such as Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and Selenium. Practical experience working within agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban is required, as well as proficiency with Jira and Confluence for project management and documentation. Additional skills in Cobol, SQL, or mainframe technologies are advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate high reliability, excellent communication skills, and a strong team-oriented mindset. Fluency in German at least at C1 level is mandatory to ensure effective collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain applications independently within an agile framework, with a primary focus on composite insurance solutions.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to understand business requirements and translate them into clear, actionable user stories.
- Coordinate with Fachbereiche to ensure the optimal implementation of functionalities and features.
- Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement of agile processes and team methodologies.
- Ensure code quality through rigorous testing and adherence to best practices using tools like Selenium and Maven.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to maintain system stability and performance.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to bring innovative solutions to the team.
