About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails Developer (m/w/d) to join our team at our Dresden office. This role offers the flexibility of full-time or part-time work (minimum 30 hours per week). As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend solutions that power our innovative financial platforms. Your expertise will help us enhance existing features, build new functionalities, and optimize our infrastructure for scalability and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust APIs, improve internal tools, and support the migration of legacy Python scripts to our modern Ruby-based architecture. This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing fintech company and make a tangible impact on our product offerings and customer experience.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Ruby on Rails development with a passion for writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code. You should have at least two years of professional experience working with Rails and a solid understanding of SQL, particularly PostgreSQL, to optimize database performance. Familiarity with modern Rails frontend tools such as Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus is essential. While not mandatory, knowledge of Python scripting and migration is advantageous. You must be fluent in German to facilitate effective communication within our team. A proactive mindset, attention to detail, and a commitment to best practices in software development are crucial for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new features for our Ruby on Rails applications, contributing actively to product enhancement and innovation.
• Create and maintain robust backend logic, including the development and upkeep of modern REST APIs to ensure seamless integration and performance.
• Write efficient SQL queries and optimize PostgreSQL databases for stability, speed, and scalability to support growing user demands.
• Design, implement, and maintain internal admin tools using Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus, streamlining internal workflows and processes.
• Maintain, improve, and refactor existing codebases to ensure code quality, consistency, and modernization over time.
• Support the maintenance and migration of legacy Python scripts into our Ruby-based infrastructure, ensuring a smooth transition and system integrity.
