About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Ruby on Rails Developer (m/w/d) to join our team at our Dresden office. This role is available in full-time or part-time (minimum 30 hours) capacity. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our core applications and APIs. Your work will directly impact the functionality and performance of our financial platforms, ensuring they remain robust, scalable, and user-friendly. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product management and frontend developers, will be essential to deliver high-quality features and improvements. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment that values innovation, continuous learning, and ownership of your projects.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of professional experience developing with Ruby on Rails, demonstrating a deep understanding of the framework's principles and best practices. You should possess solid SQL skills, especially with PostgreSQL, enabling you to craft complex queries and optimize database performance. Familiarity with modern Rails frontend technologies such as Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus is essential. While not mandatory, knowledge of Python scripting and experience with system migrations are advantageous. Excellent communication skills in German are required to facilitate effective collaboration within our team. A strong passion for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, along with a commitment to continuous improvement, is vital.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new features for our Ruby on Rails applications, contributing actively to product evolution.
• Create robust backend logic and develop modern REST APIs to support our platforms.
• Write efficient SQL queries and optimize PostgreSQL databases for stability, speed, and scalability.
• Design and maintain internal admin tools using Hotwire, Turbo, and Stimulus to streamline internal processes.
• Maintain, improve, and modernize existing codebases through targeted refactoring efforts.
• Support the maintenance and migration of Python scripts within our infrastructure to Ruby-based systems, ensuring seamless transition and system integrity.
