About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer / IT-Berater (m/w/d) to join our dynamic Delivery department. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend solutions that provide real value to our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX/UI designers, product owners, and other developers, to deliver high-quality software in a collaborative environment. Your expertise will help shape our microservices architecture, implement best practices in coding, and ensure the robustness and performance of our backend systems. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within a hybrid work model, combining on-site presence at our locations in Braunschweig, Ratingen, or Frankfurt am Main, with flexible remote work options.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer science or a related field, with several years of professional experience as a backend developer. Proficiency in Java or Kotlin, along with experience in Spring Boot, is essential. Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, Vue, or React, and experience with databases like PostgreSQL and MongoDB, are advantageous. Knowledge of microservice architecture, API design, and integration with external systems is required. The candidate should have excellent communication skills in German (fluent) and English (good), with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working in agile teams, using tools like Git, Jira, and Confluence, is expected. A proactive approach to problem-solving, a strong sense of quality, and a passion for continuous learning are key attributes.

Responsibilities

• Develop end-to-end solutions that deliver tangible value to clients, focusing on designing and implementing microservices and modern software architectures.
• Create and operate high-performance backend services using Java or Kotlin, leveraging Spring Boot for complex application development, and integrating databases and external APIs reliably.
• Ensure high code quality through automated testing, code reviews, and adherence to Clean-Code principles.
• Provide technical guidance and consultancy to clients regarding architecture, technology choices, and implementation strategies, translating complex technical details into understandable language.
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers, product owners, and other developers within agile teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Conduct code reviews, give constructive feedback, and enforce best practices and architectural standards across projects.
