About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Fullstack Developer (m/w/d) to join our IT department at our Cologne location, with an intended start date of June 1, 2026. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the EDA Web team, responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing our portal platforms and online services. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative digital solutions that directly impact our services to member companies and insured individuals. You will develop web-based portals primarily utilizing Python, contribute to the optimization of existing solutions, and actively participate in the SIGUV-Web community. The position involves project management responsibilities, requirement analysis, and collaboration across organizational boundaries to deliver high-quality digital offerings within an agile environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant IT qualification such as a university degree, technical college diploma, or equivalent vocational training, complemented by several years of professional experience in web development. Practical experience with programming languages like PHP or JavaScript is advantageous, and a strong willingness to learn Python and modern development methodologies is essential. Key qualities include analytical thinking, a solution-oriented approach, and a reliable work ethic. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to independently analyze problems, develop effective solutions, and stay current with technological advancements. Excellent communication skills in German are required, along with the willingness to occasionally travel to other locations. Experience with agile methods such as SCRUM, version control systems like GIT, CI/CD pipelines, Linux environments, and frameworks like React will be considered beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Develop and operate portals based on Python, optimize existing solutions, and program/configure necessary portal modules and packages.
- Maintain and enhance modules and packages for the portal platform, actively participating in the SIGUV-Web community.
- Create and execute independent testing procedures, document test results, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Analyze processes in collaboration with specialist departments to develop user-oriented digital services for the "Meine BG ETEM" service portal.
- Take project responsibility, managing the entire development cycle across organizational boundaries, including planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Handle requirements, changes, and incidents within the ticketing system following ITIL processes, working closely with the agile development team using Jira and Confluence.
- Develop and implement online services for the portal and ensure seamless integration into the existing platform.
- Advise staff on technical possibilities for new requirements, ensuring practical and effective solutions.
- Identify and analyze problems independently, developing suitable solutions to enhance portal functionality and user experience.
