About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer specializing in UI Java Frontend development to join our team at INIT GmbH in Karlsruhe. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and enhancing the user interface of our Leitstellen-Software, which is pivotal for the efficient management of public transportation systems. Your work will directly contribute to creating user-friendly, reliable, and innovative solutions that support the daily operations of transportation authorities and service providers. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a technical background with a degree in IT or a related field, along with proven experience in Java-based UI development. Essential qualifications include strong proficiency in Java, JavaFX, and Eclipse RCP. A good understanding of software architecture, especially within cloud environments, is advantageous. Excellent communication skills in both German and English are required to facilitate effective collaboration across teams. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for solving complex problems, developing innovative ideas, and thinking creatively beyond conventional solutions. Prior experience with agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, will be considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, from conception through deployment and maintenance, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement intuitive Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) for our applications, focusing on usability and performance.
• Develop and integrate JavaFX components into our Rich Client Platform (RCP) applications, aligning with project requirements and user needs.
• Engage actively in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to ensure continuous improvement and timely delivery.
• Contribute to the design and realization of system architecture, ensuring scalability, robustness, and long-term maintainability of software solutions.
• Work closely with stakeholders to gather use case requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and implement solutions independently.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to continually enhance the quality and efficiency of development efforts.
