About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Fullstack Java Developer (m/w/d) with a focus on Java EE to join our Application Development department for insurance products. In this role, you will be responsible for independently developing and maintaining applications within an agile environment, with a particular emphasis on the composite insurance area. Your expertise will be essential in translating complex business requirements into functional software solutions, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet the needs of our clients. You will work closely with Product Owners and stakeholders to understand requirements, define user stories, and optimize processes through continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative projects in a dynamic team, utilizing cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to shape the future of insurance IT solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable qualification, complemented by relevant professional experience. Extensive knowledge of Java development, especially with Java and Jakarta EE, is essential. Familiarity with modern development tools and technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and Selenium is required. Practical experience working with agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban, including hybrid approaches, is highly desirable. Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for daily work processes is expected. Experience with Cobol, SQL, or mainframe technologies is advantageous but not mandatory. The candidate should demonstrate high reliability, excellent communication skills, and a strong team-oriented mindset. Fluency in German at least at C1 level is necessary for effective collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Fullstack Java Developer, your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the end-to-end development and maintenance of applications within an agile framework, with a focus on insurance composite products.
