About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Fullstack Java Developer (m/w/d) with a focus on Java EE to join our Application Development Composite Department. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end development and maintenance of complex applications within an agile environment, primarily serving the insurance sector. Your expertise will be instrumental in translating business requirements into high-quality technical solutions, working closely with Product Owners and cross-functional teams. You will play a key role in enhancing our development processes and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions that align with our strategic goals. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Java development, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the ongoing success and innovation of our IT services.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a completed degree in (Business) Informatics or a comparable qualification, complemented by relevant professional experience. Deep expertise in Java development, especially with Java and Jakarta EE, is essential. Familiarity with modern development tools and technologies such as Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Maven, and Selenium is required. Practical experience with agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban, including hybrid approaches, is highly desirable. Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for daily project management and documentation is expected. Knowledge of legacy systems such as Cobol, SQL, or mainframe technologies is an advantage but not mandatory. The candidate should demonstrate high reliability, excellent communication skills, and a strong team-oriented mindset. Fluency in German at a minimum C1 level is essential for effective collaboration within our team and with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the development and maintenance of applications within an agile framework, with a focus on the insurance composite sector.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to understand business needs and translate these into detailed user stories and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with various Fachbereiche (specialist departments) to ensure optimal implementation of requirements and seamless integration.
- Continuously improve agile workflows, processes, and methodologies within the team and across projects to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high standards of software quality and maintainability.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to recommend innovative solutions that add value to our applications.
