About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Developer to join our team dedicated to advancing our neonpulse platform, a critical component in modern energy infrastructure. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and enhance cloud and middleware services that process IoT and sensor data, ensuring secure, high-performance, and standardized data integration across various systems.

As a Cloud Developer, you will be instrumental in designing scalable backend processes, developing frontend tools with JavaScript and React, and working closely with cross-functional teams including operations, product management, and other development units. Your expertise will help shape the technical architecture of our platform, ensuring its stability, scalability, and adaptability to emerging technologies and use cases.

This position is initially limited to two years, providing a unique chance to contribute to a pioneering project that accelerates the energy transition through digital innovation. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, where your contributions directly impact the future of energy infrastructure and sustainability efforts.

Qualifications

• A university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of five years of experience in cloud and backend development, preferably within IoT or platform environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, particularly with GitLab CI, to ensure automated and reliable deployment processes.
• Experience in developing web UIs or tools using JavaScript and React, with a willingness to deepen frontend expertise.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across teams and stakeholders.
• Fluent in German (C1 level) and proficient in English (B2 level).
  
  

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate middleware services for the neonpulse platform, enabling secure and performant processing of telemetry and IoT data between backend systems and third-party solutions.
• Enhance cloud applications using Java and Spring Boot, continuously improving existing services for better functionality and performance.
• Design and optimize database connections, implement complex SQL queries, and utilize Hibernate and JPA for efficient data access.
• Manage deployment and operational activities within Microsoft Azure, leveraging Terraform for infrastructure automation to ensure scalable and reliable cloud environments.
• Create, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring high-quality software delivery.
• Design and implement REST APIs and gRPC/Protobuf interfaces to facilitate robust service-to-service communication.
• Develop internal tools and frontend dashboards using JavaScript and React, supporting configuration, monitoring, and operational workflows.
• Collaborate closely with cloud, backend, frontend, and operations teams to drive the continuous evolution of the platform, ensuring it meets current and future needs.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices, applying them to enhance platform capabilities and team knowledge.
