About The Role

We are seeking a skilled API Backend Developer (m/w/d) with expertise in Oracle and REST Services to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing APIs that connect various systems and facilitate secure data transfer within the PVS holding GmbH group. Your work will ensure seamless communication between our core applications, supporting the efficient and reliable processing of healthcare billing data.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust backend services, primarily focusing on RESTful APIs using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS). You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop new interfaces, enhance existing services, and ensure our API architecture adheres to industry standards and best practices. Your contributions will directly impact the stability, security, and performance of our data exchange processes, ultimately supporting the company's mission to optimize healthcare billing workflows.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a solid technical background and relevant experience, including:

• A completed apprenticeship or degree as a Fachinformatiker/in or a comparable qualification.
• Proven experience in developing and operating RESTful APIs with Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
• Excellent command of the German language (minimum C1 level) for communication and documentation purposes.
• Familiarity with Oracle databases and PL/SQL programming, with prior project experience preferred.
• Experience in API design using OpenAPI (Swagger) and JSON-based interfaces.
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git, including branching strategies like GitFlow or Trunk-Based Development.
• Proficiency with Shell scripting or Python, and knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Structured, independent, and team-oriented working style within an agile environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to technical challenges.

Responsibilities

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Developing RESTful APIs using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS), incorporating features such as pagination, filtering, sorting, and bulk operations to ensure reliable system communication.
• Designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing new backend interfaces for core applications within the PVS holding GmbH infrastructure.
• Applying ORDS-specific features like custom authentication schemes, resource templates, parameter mapping, and handler methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE, PATCH).
• Creating clear and comprehensive API documentation using OpenAPI (Swagger) standards to promote standardization and ease of integration.
• Implementing business logic within PL/SQL to optimize database processes and integrate them seamlessly into API services.
• Automating development and operational workflows through Shell scripts or Python, and conducting performance, stability, and security analyses to identify and implement improvements.
• Participating actively in team discussions, sharing ideas, and contributing to the evolution of our backend architecture.
