About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Developer specializing in Cloud Applications and Frontend Development to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of our neonpulse platform, a critical technological backbone that ensures the secure, high-performance processing of measurement and sensor data across various systems. Your expertise will help us build scalable cloud and middleware services, develop user-friendly frontend tools, and support the operational stability of our platform.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative IoT and cloud solutions within the energy sector, directly influencing how data is integrated and utilized for smarter grid management. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including backend, frontend, operations, and product management, to deliver reliable and efficient digital solutions that support the energy transition.

The position is initially limited to two years, providing a unique chance to be part of a pioneering project that accelerates digitalization in the energy industry. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of energy infrastructure through your technical expertise and innovative mindset.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification with relevant experience.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in cloud and backend development, preferably within IoT or platform environments.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and relational databases, especially Microsoft SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, including Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
• Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, with experience using GitLab CI or similar tools.
• Familiarity with frontend development using JavaScript and React, or a strong motivation to learn and develop these skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, structured working approach, and ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Fluent German language skills (C1) and very good English language skills (B2).
  
  

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate middleware services for the neonpulse platform, ensuring secure, performant, and standardized data processing between IoT backends and third-party systems.
• Design, develop, and enhance cloud applications using Java and Spring Boot, continuously improving existing services for better functionality and performance.
• Optimize database interactions by designing and implementing complex SQL queries and utilizing Hibernate and JPA for efficient data access.
• Manage deployment processes and cloud operations within Microsoft Azure, utilizing Terraform for infrastructure automation.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, ensuring stability and efficiency.
• Implement RESTful APIs and gRPC/Protobuf interfaces to facilitate reliable service-to-service communication.
• Create frontend tools and internal applications with JavaScript and React, such as dashboards, configuration UIs, and monitoring interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of the overall platform.
• Support technical decision-making and participate in continuous learning to stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices.
