About The Role
As an Application Developer (m/w/d) at Enercity AG, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and high availability of critical control systems within a complex, evolving system landscape. You will be responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of application clusters, from deployment to decommissioning, ensuring operational excellence. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes, the integration of new systems, and the optimization of existing applications. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of IT and operational technology (OT), supporting the company's mission to deliver sustainable energy solutions. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners, providing technical guidance and ensuring compliance with security standards and operational requirements.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a successfully completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field. You bring several years of experience managing applications throughout their entire lifecycle, demonstrating a solid understanding of software release planning, organization, and leadership. Your experience with external partners and internal stakeholders is well-established, enabling you to coordinate complex projects effectively. Strong analytical skills, customer orientation, and a high sense of responsibility are essential. You are capable of working independently with a structured approach, and you communicate clearly in both German and English. Your proactive mindset and team-oriented attitude will help you thrive in our dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the stable, secure, and highly available operation of control systems across their entire lifecycle, including commissioning, operation, and decommissioning within the designated application cluster.
- Coordinate changes, maintenance, and releases of control systems, including scheduling maintenance windows and minimizing operational disruptions.
- Oversee monitoring, logging, fault analysis, and manage incidents, problems, and changes in close cooperation with the Service Management team.
- Manage and coordinate external service providers and manufacturers, including overseeing testing, troubleshooting, and acceptance of control systems.
- Participate in the selection and implementation of new control systems, focusing on operational reliability, integration capabilities, IT/OT security, and non-functional requirements.
- Advise operational departments on the use of control systems and continuously evaluate technological advancements in the OT environment to enhance operational efficiency.
