Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the top three candidates on the WHO list of multidrug-resistant bacteria, which cause a serious healthcare challenge. So far, there are no realistic treatment options for antibiotic-resistant Pseudomonas bacteria.
Instead of developing more and more antibiotics, to which resistance can be acquired, we developed a novel treatment mechanism that prevents infections early on. It thereby also prevents the development of resistance combined with less side effects, which has the potential to sustainably fight bacteria.
Unlike traditional antibiotics, our approach blocks the pathogenicity of bacteria without directly killing them. This pathoblocking prevents bacteria from harming their host. Disarmed and unable to infect human cells, the bacteria are removed from the body.

Pros: The best part about working at PathoBlock is definitely the flexibility. As an AI Researcher, being able to blend remote work with office collaboration is fantastic for productivity and work-life balance. The team is smart and collaborative, and you really feel like you're contributing to meaningful work in the diagnostics space. Learning opportunities are abundant.
Cons: While the flexibility is top-notch, career growth can sometimes feel a bit unstructured. It would be beneficial to have clearer pathways for advancement. Also, during peak project times, workload can become intense, and communication between different functional teams could occasionally be smoother to avoid minor delays. These are minor points in an otherwise positive experience.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing more structured career development plans and mentorship programs. Improving cross-departmental communication protocols could also help streamline project execution during busy periods.
