LMSCL Lower Mainland Society for Community Living was founded in 2006 and incorporated in 2009. In 2006, a group of dedicated professionals and paraprofessionals brought their individual experiences working with children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health, medical issues, drug and/or alcohol addiction together to form this agency.

Pros: I appreciated the opportunities for professional development and the collaborative team environment at LMSCL. The company has a strong foundation in IT consulting, and I was able to gain valuable experience working on diverse projects. The flexibility of remote work was a major plus, and management, for the most part, trusted us to get our work done efficiently. Learning new technologies and methodologies was a daily occurrence.
Cons: While day-to-day management is fine, the upper leadership could be more transparent about long-term company vision and strategic shifts, which sometimes led to uncertainty. During peak project phases, workload could become intense, and sometimes approval processes felt a bit slow, impacting agility. More structured career progression discussions would also be helpful for ambitious employees.
Advice to Management: Enhance strategic communication from senior leadership about company direction and future plans to reduce uncertainty and align teams more effectively. Streamline internal approval processes where possible to improve project agility. Implement more formal career development pathing and regular progression check-ins for employees.
