Company Overviews

Inspired by European simplicity & Montreal urban energy, LAMARQUE specializes in leather garments, contemporary apparel & elevated outerwear, with an unwavering commitment to outstanding quality.

LAMARQUE was founded in Montreal's fashion district. In 2013, Design Director Ifigenia Papadimitriou joined forces with one of North America's pioneers of the leather industry to create a label with a focus on perfecting the leather biker jacket.

A decade later, it has evolved into a brand that flashes prominently on the fashion radar and pushes the boundaries of design and innovation. Today, LAMARQUE has over 600 retail partners globally, both online and in-store. Major retailers include Revolve, Intermix, Saks Fifth Avenue, Anthropology & Neiman Marcus.

Good Fashion Retail Experience with Room for Stability
Pros: The team culture at LAMARQUE is generally supportive, and I appreciated the chance to work with high-quality fashion merchandise. You get hands-on experience in customer service and visual merchandising, which are valuable skills in the retail sector. There are often opportunities to learn about product lines and styling from experienced colleagues, making it a good learning environment for those interested in fashion.
Cons: Job security is the main concern here. Like many fashion retail positions, hours can fluctuate significantly based on seasonal demand and store performance. While leadership tries to maintain stability, there's always an underlying awareness of market conditions impacting staffing and roles. It's not the most stable environment if you're looking for long-term, predictable employment.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing more structured long-term staffing plans or clear communication channels regarding potential fluctuations to help employees feel more secure about their roles, especially during slower retail periods. This could improve overall morale and retention.

Creative Environment with Room for Growth
Pros: The team at LAMARQUE is incredibly talented and passionate about their work in the fashion and apparel sector. I appreciated the collaborative atmosphere and the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects. The Montreal location is vibrant and inspiring. Being part of a growing brand in a competitive industry was a valuable experience.
Cons: While the work is engaging, the pace can be intense, sometimes impacting work-life balance, especially during peak seasons. Opportunities for formal career advancement felt a bit limited without specific internal programs. Some processes could be streamlined for greater efficiency.
Advice to Management: Continue fostering the collaborative culture. Investing in more structured training and development programs could really help employees grow their careers within LAMARQUE.
