We always celebrate Pride partnering annually with GLSEN. In addition to our generous donation, we’ve hosted in store events and wore our pride through limited edition t-shirts during Pride month to show our unwavering support.
At CB2 HQ, everyday has its own playlist. Music makes its way into almost everything we do from how we define the vibe of a new collection or set the mood in our stores. In 2017 we launched a series of live concerts, in our stores, featuring some of our favorite artists: Francis and the Lights, Kacy Hill, and ???. It was such a huge success we decided to make it a forever thing. Learn about upcoming concerts check out cb2.com/afterhours.
From our store associates all around the country to our buyers, planners and creatives in Chicago, CB2 has some of the most clever, interesting and creative people we’ve ever met. Our stores are filled with their energy, their unique take on products, their stories and inspirations. Like our people, our brand isn’t about a certain look or style, it’s about an attitude. Pros: I genuinely appreciate the work flexibility I've found here as an Operations Associate at the CB2 Boston store. While retail can be demanding, my managers have been understanding when it comes to scheduling needs, often working with us to accommodate personal appointments or shift preferences where possible. This is a huge plus in the home furnishings retail industry. The team environment is also fantastic; everyone collaborates well to keep the store running smoothly, from managing inventory
Cons: One area that could use a little improvement is the communication around new policy rollouts from corporate. Sometimes updates for our Boston location feel a bit sudden, requiring quick adaptation from the operations team. Also, during peak seasons, the workload for Operations Associates can get intense, requiring extra effort to maintain inventory accuracy and efficient floor support. Streamlining some of the internal approval processes would also help.
Advice to Management: Continue to prioritize employee input on scheduling and look for ways to proactively communicate changes from corporate, especially regarding operational procedures. Investing in more cross-training for Operations Associates could also alleviate pressure during busy periods, ensuring we maintain service standards in the home furnishings sector.

Pros: I've appreciated the flexibility in scheduling, which is key for work-life balance in retail. The team culture is generally strong, and we support each other through busy periods. Learning about the home furnishings industry and product knowledge has been rewarding. Management is approachable and willing to listen to ideas for improving store operations. It's a good environment for developing retail management skills.
Cons: While flexibility is good, workload can become intense during peak seasons or major sales events, sometimes stretching hours more than ideal. Process approvals can occasionally be slow, impacting efficiency. Developing a clear, long-term career path within the company structure could be more defined for associates aiming for higher leadership roles in this growing retail chain.
Advice to Management: Continue fostering the strong team collaboration and open communication. Exploring more structured career development programs would be beneficial for employee retention and growth within the company. Streamlining some approval processes could also enhance daily operations and overall efficiency

Pros: The pay and benefits for an Assistant Store Leader at CB2 are quite competitive for the Denver retail market, including a fantastic employee discount on home furnishings. I've gained valuable experience in interior design consultation and trade sales. The team environment is generally collaborative, and I've felt supported in my role. It's a stable retailer with good product and a strong brand presence.
Cons: While the benefits are decent, there's always room for growth in overall compensation, especially when compared to non-retail industries. During peak seasons, the workload as an Assistant Store Leader can be very demanding, impacting work-life balance. Opportunities for career growth specifically within the Design & Trade track at a single location can sometimes feel limited without relocating.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing clearer pathways for vertical career growth within a specific store or region for specialized roles like Design & Trade. Streamlining communication about company-wide initiatives would also be beneficial for the retail team.
