Pros: Working as a Sales Representative in the animal nutrition industry has been really rewarding. My colleagues are fantastic and always willing to help out, which makes for a strong company culture. I've gained a lot of knowledge about different feed products and customer needs, so there's good learning opportunities if you're proactive. The work flexibility is a big plus for a field-based role, allowing me to manage my schedule pretty well. It's a stable agricultural company.
Cons: While the job security is good, career growth can feel a bit slow, especially for moving up the ladder. The pay and benefits could definitely be more competitive compared to other industries, though it's decent for agri-food. Sometimes the internal approval processes can be a bit clunky, which slows things down when you're trying to help clients quickly. It gets busy during peak seasons too.
Advice to Management: I'd suggest reviewing the compensation structure to ensure it remains competitive, especially for attracting and retaining top talent in a specialized industry like animal nutrition. Also, streamlining some of the internal approval workflows could really boost efficiency for the sales team and improve customer response times. More clear communication on career paths would also be beneficial.
