Good team environment, solid learning opportunities
Pros: The best part of SUMMIT is definitely the people. My team members were always supportive and willing to help each other out, which made day-to-day work enjoyable. I felt I was constantly learning new skills and gaining valuable experience in the tech consulting sector. The flexibility of remote work was also a big plus for maintaining work-life balance.
Cons: While the culture is generally positive, there can be moments of feeling a bit disconnected from senior leadership, and communication from the top could be clearer. Sometimes, especially during peak project cycles, the workload can feel overwhelming, and resource allocation could be more strategic to prevent burnout. Some processes could also be streamlined.
Advice to Management: Consider more consistent communication from leadership regarding company direction and strategy. Also, implementing clearer project management and resource planning tools could help manage workload expectations during busy periods and improve efficiency.

Decent place for starting out, good balance
Pros: SUMMIT offers a stable environment for developing foundational skills, particularly if you're in a junior role or looking for a structured approach. The team I worked with in Brooks was collaborative and supportive, and there's genuine flexibility for remote work or adjusted hours when needed. I appreciated the emphasis on work-life balance, making it easier to manage personal commitments.
Cons: While flexibility is good, career growth paths can feel a bit opaque, and opportunities for advancement sometimes seemed limited or tied to specific projects. Management communication, while well-intentioned, could sometimes be inconsistent, leading to minor confusion. The pay and benefits package was adequate but not exceptional compared to some competitors in the broader tech services sector.
Advice to Management: Consider clearer communication channels and more transparent career development frameworks for junior employees. Investing in mentorship programs could also boost engagement and retention.

Solid Industrial Work, Good Pay in Brooks
Pros: The compensation package at SUMMIT is pretty good, especially considering the Brooks location. They offer decent benefits and the pay keeps pace with inflation. You'll definitely learn a lot here, particularly if you're in a technical role or operations. The company offers a good starting point for early career professionals in the energy services industry.
Cons: While the company is stable, career advancement can feel a bit slow, and sometimes opportunities seem limited. There's also a noticeable gap between senior leadership's vision and day-to-day execution on the ground, which can lead to frustration for front-line staff. Some processes could be streamlined to improve efficiency.
Advice to Management: Consider implementing more transparent communication channels and clearer pathways for internal promotions to boost morale and retention among long-term employees.
