Pros: As an Occupational Therapist, I've found the hybrid schedule really helps. There's flexibility for appointments, which is great for patient care. You can usually manage your clinical documentation during work hours.
Cons: Sometimes caseloads get heavy, especially with new referrals in the Toronto market. It's tough to take long breaks, even with decent PTO. You can feel a bit burnt out if you don't set strict boundaries.
Advice to Management: Focus on managing therapist caseloads better. Invest in more support staff to help with administrative tasks so clinical staff can focus on patient care without feeling overwhelmed. This would significantly improve work-life balance for everyone, especially for new Occupational Therapists.
