Solid Tech Role with Good Flexibility
Pros: The biggest perk is definitely the work flexibility. We operate on a hybrid model, which means I get to split my time between the office in Surrey and working from home. This arrangement has significantly improved my work-life balance and allowed me to manage personal commitments more easily. The engineering teams are generally collaborative and supportive, making for a pleasant day-to-day experience in this competitive tech industry.
Cons: Career growth can be a bit team-dependent. While there are opportunities, advancement often relies on your immediate manager and project availability rather than a clear, company-wide progression path. Sometimes the tools and processes feel a little dated compared to cutting-edge industry standards, which can occasionally slow down development cycles for us in the software engineering department.
Advice to Management: Consider standardizing career development frameworks across all departments to ensure equitable growth opportunities for everyone in the software development teams.
