About the hiring company

This company is an established international freight forwarder, providing a complete range of import, export and integrated logistics services across five continents worldwide. Currently they are seeking to recruit an Accounting Officer for their Malaysian business operations based at their corporate business head office at Kelana Jaya in Petaling Jaya. 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position will encompass both Accounts payable and receivable functions. 

As Accounting Officer, your overall objective will be to work with the finance team with primarily responsible being day to day execution and management of AP and AR portfolio in the department.

The main responsibility will involve the following scope:

-Manage AP and foreign currency payments.

-Manage AR and credit control.

-General Ledger and balance sheet reconciliation.

-Liaising with operations and other departments to gather financial information and to enter these information into operational and finance system.

-Assist with month end, quarterly end and year end audit requirements.

-Prepare month end journal.

-Prepare cash flow forecasts/analysis on daily/monthly basis.

-Bank reconciliation, including multi-currency reconciliation.

-Ensure company debtor accounts are paid as per trading terms.

-Conduct credit checks on new customers.

-Issue monthly statement.

-Prepare reports on debtors ledger.

Requirements for the role

-Malaysian age below 35.

-Possess minimum LCCI Diploma qualification in Accounting.

-2-3 years experience in handling accounting functions, ideally in similar logistics sector industry.

-Experience in reconciling general ledger accounts and foreign currency transactions would be an advantage.

-Prior experience using CargoWise advantageous. 

-Intermediate Excel skills.

-Highly professional work approach and ability to tight deadlines.

This role will report into a GPI Associate Manager and will support the execution of key initiatives within the GPI roadmap, including planning transformation programs, systems enablement, and process standardization efforts, with a big focus on planning operations documentation development.

The Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting program governance, data analysis, stakeholder coordination, and project tracking across multiple global initiatives. What Your Impact Will Be: 

• Support the execution of programs and initiatives, including forecasting transformation, planning tool deployments, and process harmonization efforts
• Coordinate project activities such as tracking milestones, maintaining project plans, and preparing status updates to support decision-making, program tracking, and leadership reviews

• Manage and implement continuous improvement (CIP) initiatives for warehouse systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
• Support system-related improvement projects, including process optimization and automation (System CIP).
• Provide hardware support for warehouse operations, including troubleshooting scanners, printers, and related devices (BST Projects).
• Ensure smooth daily warehouse system operations, including monitoring system performance and resolving issues promptly.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (IT & operations) to support system enhancements and issue resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis for system or process failures and implement corrective actions.
• Support SAP/warehouse system transactions, data accuracy, and inventory integrity.
• Maintain proper documentation for system processes, changes, and improvements.
• Train and guide users on system usage and best practices when required.

• To perform the coordinating role and focus on specific designated customers of the company and take ownership.
• To participate in customer service reviews, customers satisfaction surveys and making analysis for the designated customers and for Account Management department.
• To proactively providing administrative assistance to the Account Management department.
• To handle designated customer inquiries.
• To work closely with the account managers to uncover customer requirements, qualify opportunities and propose the right solution.
• To work together with the customer account managers to safeguard strategic relationships with the designated key accounts.

The Program Coordinator will join a team of professionals working in a fast paced, team environment. The Program Coordinator facilitates and manages various processes (client specific) within the contingent worker lifecycle from on boarding through off boarding. The Program Coordinator also provides first level customer support to Hiring Managers and suppliers.

Responsibilities:
 

• Assist Hiring managers, Staffing Specialists and suppliers during all stages of the contract labor acquisition process including but not limited to interview scheduling, onboarding, worker assignment management, time and expense management and off boarding.
• Document all client reported issues and track resolution through to completion ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. 
• Maintain and update worker assignments to reflect appropriate changes.
• Provide constant communication to clients, suppliers, contingent workers and other partners via face-to-face meetings, email and phone.
• Conduct research and analysis to resolve client’s or supplier inquiries as needed.
• Provide program status reports to leadership as required.
• Monitor performance against contract SLA’s (i.e. pending end of assignments, invoicing, time and expense management and vendor compliance tracking).
• Constant interaction with vendors to ensure new hire paperwork is completed in a timely manner so the contractor can start assignment on time.
• Ensuring data integrity on proprietary data management platforms on a routine basis.
