Amberly Pty Ltd T/A Cafe Lekker in Ballarat Central in Victoria is a modern Australian restaurant. Renowned for its friendly staff, the venue offers a range of modern Australian dishes, catering to various tastes and dietary preferences.
They are currently looking for a Cook to join their team.
The Role
This is a full time role with an annual salary set at $70,000 plus superannuation.
Duties will include:
Providing and maintaining high quality standards and procedures in the preparation and service of food
Responsible for preparation of meals, hot and cold
Regularly restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service
Keeping the kitchen, a clean, safe, and sanitised environment in which to work; making sure all kitchen hygiene standards are met
Preparation of rolls and wraps, chips, and combination meals
To co-ordinate with the rest of the staff for preparation of all the dishes
Responsible for ensuring that the kitchen, plant, and equipment are maintained in a clean, presentable, and safe condition
Ensure food freshness and suitability of products and ensure that they are stored properly and at appropriate temperature in the cool room
Requirements
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
At least 3 years’ experience of cooking on the grill
At least 3 years’ experience in preparing meals that cater to various dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free, vegan, or nut-free options.
Must be able to cook different proteins including seafood, beef, lamb and pork
Food Handler's certification or equivalent is a plus
Experience and knowledge in modern Australian cuisine
Knowledge of food handling, storage, and sanitation standards to ensure all meals are prepared in a clean and safe environment.
Proven knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively
Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional dishes.
Passion for great food and presentation
Understanding of, and commitment to, food safety
Ability to work well under pressure
Stock control and wastage minimization
