Many business decisions fail not because the theory was wrong, but because the logistics of execution were never fully stress-tested. A leadership team might decide to change their pricing model or reallocate capital, but without a clear map of how those changes hit the floor, the intended value rarely materializes. Blue Oak Consulting thrives in this gap. We need an Implementation Coordinator to ensure that our commercial advice moves from the spreadsheet into the real world. You will support the consulting team by tracking the moving parts of a project and keeping our internal data as rigorous as the advice we give to clients.
About Blue Oak
Blue Oak Consulting provides commercial advice for situations where the answer is not obvious. We work with leadership teams to peel back strategy talk and look at the actual economics of their business. We focus on truth over momentum. Our approach includes:
- Skeptical analysis of pricing architectures and capital allocation.
- Rigorous testing of assumptions to see if they hold under pressure.
- Finding where capital is trapped or where value is leaking through fixed cost structures.
- Focusing on the variables that actually drive the outcome rather than delivering standard decks.
- Operating as a fully remote firm that values clear thinking and plain speaking.
The role
As an Implementation Coordinator, you are the organizational core of our consulting projects. While our consultants focus on the math and the strategy, you ensure the project stays on the rails. This is an entry level role designed for someone who is exceptionally organized and likes to solve puzzles involves moving parts and timelines. You will spend your time making sure that the data we collect is accurate, the schedules are met, and the documentation stays clear.
What you will be doing
Your work involves constant coordination and detail management. On a typical week, your tasks might include:
- Updating project trackers to reflect the current status of data collection from clients.
- Proofreading reports and presentations to ensure that the numbers in the text match the numbers in the tables.
- Managing the scheduling of interviews and focus groups between our consultants and client leadership.
- Organizing our internal digital filing systems so that data sets are easily accessible and correctly labeled.
- Summarizing meeting notes to highlight specific action items and deadlines.
- Creating status reports that show where a project is falling behind its economic objectives.
What we need from you
This is a junior position. We prioritize your ability to think clearly and stay organized over a specific degree or a long list of previous roles. We look for:
- Excellent written communication skills with a focus on simplicity and clarity.
- A high level of comfort with basic spreadsheet software like Excel or Google Sheets.
- The ability to track multiple deadlines simultaneously without getting overwhelmed.
- A skeptical mind that notices when a number looks out of place or a fact is missing.
- Consistent reliability in a remote work environment.
- Strong attention to detail, specifically regarding punctuation and numerical accuracy.
Helpful background
While not strictly required, some candidates might find the following experiences useful for this role:
- Prior experience in an administrative or entry level project management role.
- Familiarity with project management software or shared documentation tools.
- A background or interest in business economics or commercial operations.
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team.
What the role offers
We believe in straightforward compensation and a work environment that respects your time. We offer:
- A fully remote working arrangement with a high degree of autonomy.
- Exposure to complex commercial problems and high-level business strategy.
- Direct mentorship from experienced consultants who value logic over hierarchy.
- A professional culture that avoids corporate jargon and unnecessary meetings.
- Opportunities to take on more complex analytical work as your skills develop.
Who tends to do well here
Success at Blue Oak Consulting comes to those who prefer facts over feelings. You will do well here if you are the kind of person who double-checks your work before sending it and who feels a sense of satisfaction when a messy project is finally organized. We do not value "hustle" for its own sake; we value accuracy and the ability to say "I do not know, but I will find out." A good week looks like a project staying perfectly on schedule because you anticipated a bottleneck before it happened. If you enjoy creating order and helping a team reach the right answer, you will find this work rewarding.
