We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer (Freelance) for a 15-month mission-critical project with our client in Antwerp, Belgium. What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and developing robust backend services using Node.js (TypeScript-first approach)
- Building performant, maintainable frontends with React
- Working with PostgreSQL in a production environment to ensure data integrity and performance
- Contributing to architectural decisions, focusing on scalability, security, and technical excellence
- Implementing test automation and monitoring code quality to ensure high standards
- Collaborating within an Agile/Scrum team, driving continuous improvement in ways of working
- Coaching and mentoring fellow developers, elevating the team’s technical maturity
- Taking ownership of technical choices and development standards across the platform
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience developing web-based applications at a senior level
- Demonstrated leadership in development teams and coaching other developers
- Ability to execute programming tasks efficiently: coding, testing, debugging
- Ownership mindset with a drive for quality, scalability, and impact
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, with experience taking a leading role
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, builder-first attitude
Technical Skills
- Node.js (TypeScript-first) for backend development
- React for modern frontend applications
- PostgreSQL and relational database management in production environments
- TypeScript and JavaScript in production settings
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) is a plus
- Docker and containerization
- Test automation and CI/CD pipelines
- IT code and NDA signing required
Language Proficiency
- Dutch at European CEFR level C2 (mandatory)
Other Requirements
- Freelance position with a 15-month initial duration (extension possible)
- Ability to complete and attach required annexes (IT code, NDA, CV) as part of the application
- Willingness to work within the framework agreement and project guidelines
