Pros: I've learned a lot technically, especially working on complex backend systems in telecoms software development. They do offer some internal training courses. For a mid-sized tech company, the projects are often interesting.
Cons: Career growth opportunities are pretty limited, especially for Senior Software Engineer roles. There aren't many clear paths to principal or staff engineer. You often have to leave the company to get a real promotion. The hybrid work model also makes it harder to get face time with leadership for advancement.
