A history of innovation. Moving forward with vision.
Established in 1985, Hockingstuart has been a landmark presence in the Victorian real estate industry with a history of firsts.
Hockingstuart was the first agency to publish its properties for sale in a magazine format, the first to conduct auctions on Sundays, and the earliest adopter to recognise the power of the internet and launch the cutting-edge online property alert in 2001. Did you know that Hockingstuart was also the first brand to install night lights on signboards?
Embracing the rapidly progressing world of technology, Hockingstuart launched an industry-first suite of digital marketing tools in 2017, changing the way that customers interact with properties online. This allowed buyers to virtually furnish the property that they're looking to make their next home and even virtually renovate the existing kitchen to their taste, allowing clients to dream big.
It is the constant challenging of status quo and championing customer experience that makes hockingstuart Victoria's most progressive and dynamic real estate network.
In 2019, we made our boldest move to date. We merged with leading boutique brand Belle Property; a strategic decision from both businesses to build on and combine the superior real estate services of two great Australian brands.
Founded on an alignment with the Belle lifestyle magazine, Belle Property is Australia’s leading boutique real estate network specialising in superior customer service and premium outcomes at any price level.
A combined network, with two distinct brands, Hockingstuart is now a part of not only a strong Victorian network of 39 offices across two brands, but a broader national network of more than 200 offices across the eastern seaboard of Australia.
The Hockingstuart brand continues to pride itself on challenging the status quo and championing customer experience, making it Victoria's most progressive and dynamic real estate network.

Pros: The brand name is strong in the Australian property market, which helps attract clients. I found the day-to-day work engaging, and there's a supportive vibe within many of the agency teams. It's a good place to learn the fundamentals of real estate sales and build a client base. The flexibility in scheduling, common in this industry, is also a definite advantage.
Cons: While the culture is generally good, communication between different departments or management levels could sometimes be clearer. During peak market times, the workload can become quite demanding, making work-life balance a challenge. Some processes, like deal approvals, felt a bit slow at times, which can be frustrating when you're trying to close.
Advice to Management: Consider streamlining approval processes and enhancing cross-departmental communication to improve efficiency, especially during busy periods. Clearer career pathing for agents would also be beneficial.
