What this job involves:

Greasing the wheels of day-to-day operations

You will be involved in the overall upkeep of plant and facilities equipment to ensure smooth daily operations. To do this, you’ll need to regularly inspect all equipment rooms and other facilities, and take note of any problems using the predefined checklists. Also part of your responsibilities is to walk the duty technicians through weekend work plans, and give out technical recommendations, as needed.

Being the front line for maintenance needs

Our clients will come to you for equipment fixes, so you’ll be expected to be skilled in carrying out repairs. At the same time, you should always be ready to get hold of vendors to do maintenance work at a moment’s notice. On top of this, you’ll also have to speed up any required equipment moves, adds and changes implementation. In every decision or action you will make, you’ll need to keep in mind that you follow local governmental rules and regulations to avoid any legal troubles.

Certified and experienced

Job Title: Scrum Master

Salary: £61,641 to 68,490

Location: Bristol

Hours: Full time

Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least 2 days per week or 40% of our time in our Bristol office.

You'll encourage your team's understanding of Agile frameworks, Transformation Principles and Practices, and support them to establish their ways of working, to self-manage and continuously improve in delivering change and value safely. In summary a scrum master is there to help the team deliver more value, more quickly at a sustainable pace.

Here's where you'll make a difference:
* Support the Team and Lab to understand and utilise Agile frameworks (Scaling, Scrum, Kanban etc) and Agile events (Scrum of Scrums, PI planning, retrospectives etc) to understand the value and purpose of them.
* Help the Product Owner to manage an effective Product Backlog
* Guide the team to break work into small, discrete pieces of value or learning.
* Promotes best practices in refinement, prioritisation, stakeholder engagement and introducing tools and techniques.
* Coach and empower the team to self-manage, utilise feedback for continuous learning and improvement in efficient and incremental value delivery.
* Enable the team to understand and visualise the optimal sequence of work, measure and understand their performance through metrics (throughput, cycle time, happiness etc) and use this as the basis for their improvement activity.
* Promote psychological safety and wellbeing creating a safe, trusting, and open environment for the team.
* Coach and support the team to identify blockers / barriers to effective delivery and remove these.
* Learning/curious mindset, energy, and enthusiasm for creative disruption and to continuously strive to improve the organisation, team, and your knowledge and skills.About us

What you'll need

As an experienced Scrum Master you'll bring a learning and curious mind set along with energy and enthusiasm for creative disruption.

Specifically, we're looking for:

• Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master using Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.

• Ability to facilitate organisation-wide adoption of best practices and lessons learned.

• Experience of working independently and finding opportunities to provide guidance and training to less experienced Scrum Masters

• Use of Confluence / Jira work management or similar tools to support agile ways of working

• Experience of collecting and using data to drive team improvement.

• Experience in coaching a Product Owner in effective Product Backlog management.

Knowledge and understanding of Agile Frameworks (such as the Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SaFE) and has practical experience of working in Agile environments.
* Shows knowledge and some experience of other techniques that support Agile working, such as Dev Ops, Lean, System Thinking, Queueing Theory, Complex Adaptive systems, Theory of Constraints / Critical Chain.
* Demonstrates knowledge, understanding and experience of techniques to improve the teams ways of working>
* Scrum Master Certification - PSM1 or equivalent is desirable however support will be available to achieve this.
