ROLE SUMMARY:

• Our Global Supply Chain operates as a unified system with our customers and suppliers by acting as seamless extensions of their operations. We offer customized, flexible and integrated supply chain solutions, supported by a global technology platform and a dedicated, market-focused team.
• The Strategic SCM team is responsible for supply chain processes and systems design & deployment, flawless product launches and broader business execution, including working capital management.
• With leading supply chain capabilities and integrated services tailored to meet our customers' unique requirements, our unified supply chain is adaptive and responsive to continuous change. It is how we help our customers stay ahead in a dynamic market environment.
• We are currently seeking a Director, Strategic Supply Chain Management (Capital Equipment) to join our team to be the global supply chain focal point and primary interface with Celestica’s global supply chain organization, processes and procedure.
• The successful candidate will have significant experience in both customer management and execution of both strategic and tactical initiatives. The incumbent will lead the efforts of multiple support organizations, globally, to ensure a successful execution on flawless new product introduction, current production deliveries as well as understanding of future business.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

• Maintains responsibility for a set of projects developed jointly developed by Celestica and customer.
• Provides direction for source selection and ensures proper process implementation.
• Interfaces with cross functional teams to ensure negotiations meet business requirements and growth plans.
• Advices the supply chain management process for customers from materials pricing and BOM analysis to delivery execution and flexibility performance.
• Quotes and negotiates critical high dollar or strategic commodities or provides direction to a team of commodity managers.
• Provides leadership in the analysis of costed customer bids or quarterly BOM Costing exercises for global customers.
• Works cross functionally to optimize Design for supply chain performance of Celestica products.
• Provides support to Commodity Management teams on contract negotiations.
• Supports quarterly business reviews with customers, and with senior management at key/strategic suppliers.
• Provides leadership and direction with respect to interaction with suppliers. Leads process development and development of commodity strategies.
• Has regular communication with the customers related to, demand, commitments, non-performing inventory and future process changes /improvements.
• Provides direct and indirect supervision to all supporting managers and employees performing highly specialized roles in several major functions or departments.
• Accountable for projects and/or programs on a multi-national or global basis. Has overall responsibility for quality, cost and te operations or operational accountability for global business units.
• Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. May have overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods and employees in a functional area.
• Makes final decisions on administrative and operational matters in area of responsibility to ensure achievement of objectives.
• Provides strategic supply chain expertise, support and innovative solutions to internal SCM stakeholders and customers. Has responsibility for supply chain strategy for customers within their market
• Interfaces with the customer at the supply chain level.
• Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers.
• Works to define a supply chain strategy that ensures targets are met (MPS, revenue, inventory), collaborates with sites and customers to resolve issues.
• Collaborates with customers on proposals, expedites and premiums and manages risks/liabilities for CLS, and provides guidance to ensure capacity is installed as needed
• Supports E&O claims, shortage management and follow up escalations with customers for resolutions

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in related field (Business or Engineering), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience with 12+ years of relevant experience
• Extensive knowledge of an electro/mechanical manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
• Knowledge and application of continuous improvement principles including lean, six sigma, 8D, DFM, Kaizen events
• Ability to understand the complete supply chain and resolve issues in any area. Reviews demand planning with wider SCM team identifies required changes, drives solutions and any necessary escalations with the customer as needed.
• Strong knowledge in all areas of import/ export, regulatory and logistics management
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Able to resolve complex issues & problems internally and externally
• Significant skills required in multi-tasking and time management
• Ability to effectively lead, manage, train and motivate a diverse group of managers and employees.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
• Ability to maintain external contacts with consultants, association and other companies for benchmarking and networking.
• Able to work effectively cross- functionally and with other sites to achieve objectives.
• Regular travel will be required (20%)

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Acts as the primary contact for matters related to inventory
• Works with Site Business Unit/Customer Focus Team/Program Manager/Planning and SCM staff to implement and drive strategies that will meet sites objectives for material availability while reducing inventory for improved cash flow, balancing inventory results with financial records.
• Recommends and leads cross-functional teams to drive implementation and maintenance of flexibility/lead time reduction programs, such as Safety Stock, SMI, Kanban and other inventory initiatives.
• Participates in setting the global inventory targets and coordinates solutions to help achieve these targets.
• Performs deep dive analysis on historical issues and recommends/implements solutions on chronic suppliers/components
• Develops tactical and long-term initiatives covering process improvements, action plans, training and education, deployment and effective maintenance of inventory flexibility initiatives.
• Analyses material plans and provides direction and guidance to site purchasing teams and suppliers on maintenance of flexibility/lead time reduction programs.
• Drive Site Customer Focus Team/Program Manager for customer inventory liability assurances to reduce Celestica’s exposures and support closure of customer claims
• Assists Commodity Managers with negotiations of new and revised flexibility/lead time reduction contracts, minimizing liabilities to Celestica.
• Monitors, reports and ensures cross-functional teams adhere to inventory and lead time reduction programs/initiatives.
• Develops reporting package/ presentation for executive review and participates in strategic development sessions with senior SCM Management.
• Controls and monitors surplus inventory, assists in implementing action plans.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Broad knowledge of the Semiconductor front end business environment and Capital Equipment customers’ business
• Strong knowledge of global inventory management, material requirements planning and experienced in flexibility/lead time reduction initiatives in a high mix low volume environment.
• Deep understanding of inventory to free cash flow & return on invested capital
• Possess finance acumen and savvy with numbers to influence cross-functional teams using facts and data
• Knowledge of IT tools and systems – adaptable to new tools and technology.
• Sound project management skills.
• Good analytical and statistical skills.
• Excellent negotiation and problem solving skills.
• Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of complex process/system problems
• Ability to independently handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
