Responsibilities: Teach entry-level DPT students in areas of expertise; participate in research, scholarship and dissemination activities according to University and CAPTE requirements; and participate in department, university, professional, and community service. The position is a twelve-month, full-time appointment. The DPT program enrolls 50 students each year into our full-time, 32-month program. The curriculum emphasizes integrated active learning experiences throughout the students’ matriculation, during didactic trimesters and through clinical experiences.
Qualifications: A completed academic doctorate (PhD, DSc, EdD or equivalent) in physical therapy or a related area of study is required. Applicants must be licensed or currently eligible for physical therapist licensure in California. Individuals who are within 6 months of completing their academic doctoral degree will also be considered. Prior academic faculty experience is strongly preferred.
Contemporary practice expertise and teaching experience in biomechanics/kinesiology/movement science and/or acute/complex care practice environments is preferred, but other areas of contemporary expertise will also be welcomed and considered.
