About The Role
We are looking for a Web Developer to build, maintain, and optimise WordPress websites. You will work across multiple projects, collaborate with internal teams, and deliver high-quality, performance-driven websites in a fast-paced digital marketing agency environment.
Main Duties:
Website Development
- Build and maintain WordPress websites using themes, plugins, Elementor, WooCommerce, and custom development where required.
- Convert approved designs, wireframes, or Figma layouts into responsive WordPress websites.
- Create landing pages, service pages, blog layouts, product pages, and other website sections.
- Ensure websites are mobile-friendly, fast-loading, and cross-browser compatible.
- Set up and configure WordPress themes, child themes, plugins, menus, forms, and page templates.
Website Maintenance
- Perform regular website updates, plugin updates, theme updates, and content changes.
- Troubleshoot and fix website bugs, layout issues, plugin conflicts, and performance problems.
- Assist with website backups, security checks, and general site health monitoring.
- Improve website speed, usability, and technical performance where needed.
SEO and Digital Marketing Support
- Implement basic on-page SEO best practices, including headings, metadata, image alt text, internal linking, and clean URL structures.
- Work with SEO and content teams to ensure websites are structured for search visibility and conversions.
- Set up tracking tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, and Search Console when required.
- Build landing pages that support paid ads, lead generation, and marketing campaigns.
Client and Team Collaboration
- Work closely with designers, copywriters, account managers, and digital marketers to deliver high-quality website projects.
- Interpret client briefs and provide technical input where required.
- Communicate project progress, technical limitations, and recommended solutions clearly.
- Assist with website handovers, documentation, and client training where needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience building websites in WordPress.
- Strong experience with Elementor or similar WordPress page builders.
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
- Experience with WooCommerce will be advantageous.
- Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development.
- Basic knowledge of technical SEO and website performance optimisation.
- Ability to troubleshoot WordPress errors, plugin conflicts, and layout issues.
- Experience working with hosting environments, domains, DNS, cPanel, or similar platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple website tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
Good to have:
- Experience with Figma, Adobe XD, or design handoff tools.
- Experience with custom WordPress themes or child themes.
- Knowledge of PHP and WordPress functions.
- Experience with Rank Math, Yoast SEO, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Search Console.
- Basic understanding of UX, conversion optimisation, and digital marketing funnels.
- Experience with website speed tools such as PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, or Lighthouse.
