SUMMARY:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable
Millwright to join a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on individual with strong electrical and mechanical experience who thrives in a fast-paced production setting.
Location: Mpumalanga (Standerton)
Salary: R25 000 - R 30 000 + 13th cheque, bonus, provident fund
POSITION INFO:
Maintenance:
- Maintain and service all company equipment, including machinery and tools
- Ensure all plant and factory equipment is kept in good working condition
- Respond to and resolve breakdowns safely and efficiently
- Report all faults, deviations, and breakdowns to the supervisor during shifts
- Perform lockout procedures when working on plant equipment
- Maintain the cleanliness of all machinery and work areas
- Complete defect tracker logs during or after shifts
- Conduct weekly plant equipment maintenance inspections
- Attend weekly production and safety meetings
- Perform both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks
- Repair and maintain pumps (mono, centrifugal, and submersible)
- Remove foreign materials from pumps and screw systems
- Respond to maintenance callouts as required
- Use diagnostic tools such as mustimeters effectively
- Replace three-phase motors and bearings on machinery
- Conduct fault-finding on electrical and mechanical systems
- Clean steam boiler tubes
- Ensure generators are serviced and filled with diesel daily
- Ensure all electrical panels are properly secured
- Inspect pumps for leaks and address issues promptly
- Ensure all moving equipment is fitted with appropriate safety guards
- Ensure all screw lids are properly secured and bolted
Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Always follow lockout and safety procedures
- Ensure all safety guards are correctly installed and maintained
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment for all employees
- Report any unsafe practices or conditions to management immediately
Requirements
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Red Seal Millwright Qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a qualified Millwright
- Strong electrical and mechanical expertise
- Milling experience is a must
- Experience in a Rendering Plant or with animal feed plants will be highly valued
Working experience with the following machinery:
- Boilers
- Cookers
- Conveyors & Conveyor Systems
- Pumps & Motors
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Candidates must be willing to relocate to Greylingstad (Nthorwane), Mpumalanga
- Applicants residing in Johannesburg or other metropolitan areas who intend to commute will not be considered
- The role requires shift work (07:00 – 19:00 on a rotational basis), making daily commuting impractical
- A guaranteed 13th cheque is included
- Performance-based bonuses are awarded based on individual performance and achievement of KPIs.
