The Role
We are seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer who possesses not only exceptional coding skills but also robust systems thinking and architectural acumen. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, building, and optimizing our backend systems, partnering closely with Product, Tech, and cross-functional teams throughout the entire product development lifecycle. This position is tailored for individuals with a high sense of ownership, who are ready to drive technical excellence, ensure system quality, and deliver a tangible impact on the user experience.
What You Will Do
- Develop core backend features based on requirements aligned with PMs/Tech Leads.
- Design module architectures, API contracts, and database schemas for complex features.
- Integrate third-party systems (third-party APIs, OAuth, external services).
- Engage in the full product development lifecycle: from business analysis and architecture design to development, testing, and deployment.
- Take ownership of code quality, architectural integrity, and module performance.
- Adhere to architectural principles, including Clean Architecture, Hexagonal Architecture, and Modular Monoliths.
- Maintain stable CI/CD pipelines (running tests, managing quality gates).
- Monitor production environments and handle incident management when required.
- Collaborate closely with Frontend, QA, DevOps, and Product teams.
- Conduct high-quality code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.
- Proactively propose technical and product improvements based on user experience and data insights.
- Build and maintain technical documentation (API docs, architectural decisions/ADRs).
- Report progress, potential risks, and deliverables to the Line Manager.
- Demonstrate end-to-end ownership over assigned modules.
What We’re Looking For
You Might Be a Great Fit If You Have
- At least 4 years of experience in Backend Development using Java.
- Proficiency in Java (17+), Spring Boot, OOP, and Design Patterns.
- Proven experience in API design, database schema design, and working with PostgreSQL.
- Solid understanding and application of Clean/Hexagonal Architecture, SOLID principles, and RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Redis, JWT/OAuth2, and Spring Security.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and writing robust unit/integration tests.
- Strong capability to collaborate with Frontend developers and debug complex integration issues.
- Experience with Microservices architectures and Message Brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
- Prior experience with Elasticsearch, Kubernetes, and Cloud platforms.
- Good grasp of system monitoring, logging, and performance tuning.
