Job Summary
Regard is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead and grow squads of Software Engineers. This role plays a core part in collaborating with product teams to develop key features within a provider-facing product. The successful candidate will set strategic vision, make prioritization decisions, oversee technical execution, and lead team growth. A key responsibility involves exploring and integrating generative AI to enhance user experience. This role reports directly to the CTO.
Software
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support squads of AI-empowered engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development.
- Lead the development and delivery of product features in collaboration with product and design partners.
- Drive technical decisions and system design, balancing scalability with delivery timelines.
- Support team efforts in maintaining production reliability and performance, including on-call rotations.
- Contribute to the codebase to unblock the team or gain technical understanding.
- Drive execution of complex technical projects ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product, and clinical subject matter experts.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience (primarily Frontend or Full-stack).
- 2+ years of experience leading teams of 5 or more developers.
- Proficiency with Python and/or TypeScript.
- Experience with AI coding tools and AI agents.
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and observability tools (e.g., GitHub/GitLab, ArgoCD, Datadog, Sentry).
- Experience in dynamic startup and/or high-growth environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in enterprise SaaS environments or health tech.
Work Authorization & Relocation
Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence
Travel Requirements: Employees based in San Francisco must travel to NYC quarterly.
Compensation
- Salary Range: $210,000 - $250,000 per year
