Controller role based in Manhattan, reporting directly to the CEO, where you will oversee the full accounting function and drive financial visibility across ~30 active construction projects. You'll play a key role in building structure, improving reporting (including WIP), and partnering closely with leadership to support a fast-growing, multi-state business.

Description
The Controller's key responsibilities are:
- Oversee full accounting operations across building and construction projects
- Manage month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger activities
- Monitor and analyze project costs, budgets, and profitability (WIP reporting)
- Partner closely with leadership to provide insights on financial health of construction projects
- Improve processes and implement stronger controls and reporting structures
- Review and supervise accounting team to ensure accuracy and accountability
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning for ongoing and future builds
- Collaborate with construction and operations teams on project financial performance
Profile
The successful Controller will:
- Take ownership of the full accounting function within a growing building and construction environment
- Drive financial visibility across projects, including cost tracking, budgeting, and WIP reporting
- Partner directly with the CEO and construction leadership to support business decisions
- Implement structure, improve processes, and enhance financial controls and reporting accuracy
- Lead and develop the accounting team while ensuring accountability and performance
- Provide insights into the financial health of ongoing construction projects and help scale the business
