About Us

EagleSight builds vision AI for casino floors, hotels, stadiums, and other large venues where existing surveillance cameras need to detect incidents in real time. Our software runs on-prem at customer sites, processes live multi-camera video, and alerts operators within seconds. We're a small team shipping into some of the most operationally demanding production environments anywhere.

The Role

We're hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer who can own backend systems, ship full-stack features, and get hands deep into deployments at customer sites. This is not a typical web app role.

You will write production code, debug live distributed systems running on GPU servers in casino surveillance rooms, and support deployments that have to work the moment they go live. Backend experience is the foundation. You should be comfortable owning a Python service from API design through database schema, message queue integration, and operational health, and equally comfortable jumping into the React dashboard when the UI is what needs to move.

You will partner closely with DevOps on infrastructure, with ML engineers on inference pipelines, and with customer IT and surveillance teams during deployment.

What You'll Own

• Backend services in Python and Node that integrate ML inference output with our customer-facing dashboard and downstream systems
• The Postgres data layer: schema design, migrations, query performance, and the operational tooling that keeps it healthy under real load
• Integration points between the inference pipeline (NVIDIA DeepStream-based), our message queues (RabbitMQ), and the streaming media layer (RTSP, HLS, WebRTC, MediaMTX)
• The on-prem React / Next.js dashboard used by surveillance and pit staff during live operations, including UI work when it's the highest-leverage move
• Health checks, alerting, and the diagnostic surface that lets us catch problems before customers do
• Release management across multiple customer environments with version-control discipline
• Field deployment work alongside DevOps: installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and stabilizing the system on customer hardware in air-gapped or restricted networks

You'll Be a Strong Fit If You Have

• 5+ years building production backend systems, with full-stack experience including modern React
• Deep working knowledge of Python and TypeScript / JavaScript
• Strong relational database fundamentals: schema design, query performance, migration discipline
• Comfort on Linux at the command line, debugging distributed systems with logs, metrics, and process tools
• Experience with message queues and real-time event systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, NATS, or similar)
• Can take ownership, work independently on critical, time-sensitive projects, and are highly organized

The Reality of This Role

This is a build-mode role at a startup with paying customers. The CI/CD, monitoring, release tooling, and deployment processes are getting built and hardened in real time, often by you, while the system runs in production.

The work is operationally rigorous and the pace is fast. If you want a role where infrastructure is solved and the work is purely greenfield application development, this is not it. If you want to own a system end-to-end and see your code running in front of operators on a live casino floor, you'll thrive here.
