Data Engineer (AWS, Python, SQL)
Location: Durham, NC (Hybrid)
Introduction:
As a Data Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for extracting critical elements using Python, working with SQL databases, and building brand new solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. Your role will involve breaking down on-prem databases and pipelines into the AWS ecosystem while utilizing your data warehouse experience. Strong communication skills are a must to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize Python to extract critical elements and re-build in new ecosystem
- Work with SQL databases to manipulate and extract data
- Build new solutions on the AWS platform
- Migrate on-prem databases and pipelines to AWS
- Utilize data warehouse experience to optimize data storage and retrieval
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand data requirements
- Communicate effectively to ensure project goals are met
Requirements:
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Python for data extraction and manipulation
- Experience working with SQL databases
- Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and best practices
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data visualization tools
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark
- Certifications in AWS or related technologies
