As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Shaped, you'll bridge engineering and our customers, helping them ship on Shaped, whether that's an agent, a recommender, a search experience, or something we haven't seen yet. This requires someone who can program and also sell - a killer combo!
Experience/qualities
- Several years of engineering experience (Ex. could ship an end-to-end backend or ML service)
- Comfortable with Python and SQL
- Have experience talking to customers, whether you were a solutions engineer or a barista
- Excited to wear many hats (sales, modeling, backend, frontend, etc.)
- Care about retrieval and recognize how broken context still is for agents today
Responsibilities
- Help customers go from first POC to production in weeks, not quarters
- Run experiments to find the models, embeddings, and configurations that work for each customer
- Build trust with customer engineering and product leaders so they keep shipping with us
- Run technical demos that close deals
- Bring customer pain back into the product roadmap
