About The Role
A growing, service-focused organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all aspects of financial operations, reporting, and internal controls. This role reports directly to the CFO and will oversee a finance and accounting team including an Assistant Controller, Senior Accountant, AP/AR Specialists, and Accounting Clerks.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, payroll, AP/AR, and month-end close.
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements, reconciliations, and reports.
- Manage bi-weekly payroll and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
- Oversee cash flow and support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team.
- Analyze financial results and trends to provide actionable insights to the executive team.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial processes.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and 401(k) audits with external partners.
- Lead ERP and system enhancements, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
- Provide regular financial updates, KPIs, and operational insights to the CFO.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; MS in Accounting preferred.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of relevant financial experience, including at least 5 years as a Controller with supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience with payroll, multi-entity financial reporting, consolidations, and intercompany accounting.
- Background in service-based or technology industries preferred.
- Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
