Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development Programs & Partnerships, the Workforce Development Program and Project Manager supports the design, implementation, and management of workforce development initiatives that optimize Penn Medicine's talent pipeline, employee development programs and operational effectiveness. This role leads key projects, monitors workforce metrics, and collaborates with internal leadership, stakeholders and external partners to align workforce strategies with organizational priorities. Collaborate with educational institutions, local workforce development organizations and community partners to enhance the organization's workforce development efforts.

Responsibilities:

Program and Project Support:

• Plan, organize, and oversee workforce initiatives, managing timelines, resources, and budgets.
• Drive multiple projects while delivering clear and concise updates and outcomes.
• Coordinate and support the delivery of external workforce development programs across the healthcare system.
• Work independently to manage and coordinate multiple concurrent projects at various stages of completion. Complete and manage workforce project activities using an industry standard project management process and approach to ensure a consistent approach to project completion.
• Develop project plans, set deadlines, and communicate status to the project team and leadership. Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, prepare minutes, and manage the project SharePoint sites. Prepare and deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint to project teams and leadership.
• Develop strategies and programs to support employees in navigating their careers within Penn Medicine in order to achieve their professional goals.
• Exercise initiative to identify, complete or delegate tasks.
• Attend events and meetings in person as needed.
  
  

Training & Development Delivery:

• Develop and maintain relationships with Penn Medicine Academy in order to collaborate and develop necessary and responsive workforce solutions when applicable.
• Design, present, and facilitate engaging employee training programs tailored to organizational needs.
  
  

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

• Partner with human resources, departmental leaders and internal stakeholders to align workforce development initiatives to address current and forecasted workforce shortages.
• Network and build connections; establish new relationships and maintain current ones with professional organizations, industry leaders, external partners, community leaders and vendors to stay current on best practices and emerging trends.
• Use professional networks to share insights and learn from others in the field of workforce development.
• When applicable, apply diplomacy to address disagreements or misunderstandings that arise during planning meetings or during workforce development engagements with stakeholders; influence collaboration between all parties if needed.
• Work to resolve conflicts in a constructive manner that all parties are involved. Understands Penn Medicine’s core business and can articulate the connections between workforce development and business operations.
• Displays confidence and executive presence when interacting with others.
  
  

Strategic Workforce Planning:

• Analyze skill gaps and forecast future training and workforce development needs to support long-term organizational goals.
• Gathers labor market information, talent demand and skills requirements and translating data into meaningful information to create workforce development strategies.
• Long-Term Vision; be able to think beyond immediate organizational needs and plan workforce development in alignment with future organizational goals and challenges.
• Forecasting Needs; anticipate skill gaps and workforce trends, ensuring that training programs evolve to meet the changing needs of the business.
  
  

Communication:

• Effectively convey information to both individuals and groups, whether it's explaining training programs, policies, or strategic objectives.
• Active Listening; listen carefully to stakeholder and organizational leasers’ needs, concerns, and feedback to tailor development programs to meet those needs.
• Presentation Skills; present training materials, reports, and development plans clearly and confidently to different audiences, from senior leadership to front-line workers.
  
  

Other:

• Performs duties in accordance with Penn Medicine and entity values, policies, and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned to support the unit, department, entity, and health system organization.
  
  

Education or Equivalent Experience:

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• 5+ years of experience in talent acquisition, Program and/or project management, experience developing recruiting and sourcing strategies for complex organizations is required.
• Master's degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of program and/or project management, talent acquisition and experience developing recruiting strategies within healthcare is preferred.
