Key Responsibilities of the Controller
- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including internal and external statements
- Develop, implement, and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Lead audit processes and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis in partnership with leadership
- Oversee procurement and contract-related financial processes
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure alignment across departments and financial operations
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff to drive performance and accountability
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualifications For The Controller
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience in multi-entity, government, or non-profit accounting environments preferred
- CPA or advanced degree is a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
