For our client, we are seeking a Radar Optimization Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.
This role will focus on optimizing radar performance across multiple sites within a demanding federal program environment. The engineer will serve as a technical subject matter expert, supporting configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of radar and related electronic systems. Close coordination with engineering leads and site stakeholders will be essential to improve reliability, detection capability, and operational readiness.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $107,900 – $195,050 annually
Responsibilities
- Represent the program office at multiple radar sites under a demanding schedule
- Serve as a subject matter expert for radar optimization and engineering leads
- Support the configuration, testing, and optimization of radar and electronic systems
- Perform comprehensive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of radar issues
- Align antennas and verify mechanical tilt and azimuth for optimal radar performance
- Utilize diagnostic tools to enhance system gain and establish detection thresholds
- Document configurations, test results, and identified issues for record-keeping
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
- Formal training in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Military Radar Systems, or a closely related field
- Experience in the research, design, development, integration, and testing of electronic equipment
- Completion of formal radar training at the FAA Academy or a recognized program
- Hands-on experience with radar systems in the National Airspace System (NAS)
- In-depth knowledge of RF propagation, microwave transceivers, and signal processing
- Experience using diagnostic instruments such as spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes
