For our client, we are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer - DevOps to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.
This role will focus on strengthening security across federal and DoD software operations while embedding controls into modern delivery pipelines.
You will lead compliance activities, guide risk management documentation, and partner closely with engineering and DevOps teams to improve secure release practices.
The position also calls for hands-on vulnerability management, threat modeling, and incident response support in highly regulated environments.
Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $112,000 – $178,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead cybersecurity compliance for software in federal and DoD operations
- Execute RMF activities including ATO documentation and security control implementation
- Mitigate application-layer vulnerabilities using the OWASP Top 10 framework
- Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines to enhance DevSecOps maturity
- Manage vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation efforts with development and DevOps teams
- Conduct threat modeling and security design assessments with engineering teams
- Lead incident response and security investigations in highly regulated government environments
Qualifications
- U.S. citizen with an active DoD security clearance or ability to obtain one
- 3-5 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience in secure federal or DoD environments
- Expertise in security frameworks and compliance processes within federal technology settings
- Proficiency in using DISA-approved tools for STIG implementation and vulnerability management
- Understanding of FedRAMP Moderate and FISMA compliance requirements and controls mapping to NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 5
- DevSecOps experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Azure DevOps or Jenkins
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
