About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Principal or Senior Principal DevOps Engineer to join our Space Systems Sector team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on critical projects supporting rapid capability development and deployment within a secure environment. The position can be based in Aurora, CO, Morrisville, NC, or Sacramento, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated infrastructure and deployment pipelines, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of software systems. This role requires a proactive approach to infrastructure management, automation, and collaboration with development teams to optimize operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud platforms, automation tools, and security protocols, contributing to high-stakes projects that support national security initiatives.
Qualifications
- Must hold an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
- Must have an active U.S. Government CI Polygraph, current and within scope.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Principal Level: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master’s degree; or 0 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Senior Principal Level: Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master’s; 4 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 6 months of employment.
- Experience with Linux or related operating systems administration.
- Experience working within an Agile software development framework.
- Demonstrated experience with at least three of the preferred qualifications listed below.
Responsibilities
- Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure to support rapid program capability maturation and deployment.
- Integrate development pipelines leveraging automation, test-driven development tools, and continuous integration/test frameworks.
- Define and implement standards for build, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring activities.
- Ensure implementation of Software Configuration Management (SCM), code quality, and automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.
- Collaborate with Agile development teams to automate deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management frameworks.
- Build and configure delivery environments supporting CI/CD tools using Agile methodologies.
- Create scripts and templates for automating infrastructure provisioning and management tasks.
- Work closely with development teams and vendors to resolve issues and optimize systems performance.
- Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure components.
- Develop custom scripts to improve system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Contribute to the design of operational support systems and infrastructure architecture.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Oversee security, backup, and redundancy strategies to ensure system integrity and availability.
- Evaluate application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions in collaboration with developers.
